Ceramides and squalene are lipids that are naturally found in the skin's stratum corneum. Retinol is the gold standard for anti-aging, particularly in regards to stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis to target wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, and loss of elasticity and firmness. Unfortunately, it may be too strong for those with sensitive, rosacea and eczema skin, while some people may also choose to avoid this active ingredient during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
