Peptide Complex Supercharger
Peptides are made up of amino acids that are fragments of proteins needed by the skin, like collagen and elastin. When amino acids are combined in certain formations they create specific peptides, which in turn become specific proteins that make up the skin’s foundation, and are responsible for its texture, strength and resilience.
Researches over the years have shown that different peptides work in very specific ways to target an exact skin care need, and they also teach skin how to help revitalize its building blocks and revive aging skin. Using products with peptides topically is like sending little messengers to the skin, which trigger the skin to perform specific functions like building collagen and elastin, fight free radicals, and reduce inflammations, depending on the type of peptide used.
Designed to act as a booster, the super lightweight Marie Reynolds London Peptide Complex Supercharger is a cocktail of potent peptides——Copper Tripeptide-1, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, that works at the cellular level to stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, whilst providing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.
Vegetable Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Sodium Gluconate and Sodium Lactacte are also added for an extra boost of hydration.
Fine lines and wrinkles are thus reduced, elasticity is increased, and skin becomes firmer and smoother with a more youthful appearance.
Bakuchiol Complex Supercharger
Retinol is the gold standard for anti-aging, particularly in regards to stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis to target wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, and loss of elasticity and firmness. Unfortunately, it may be too strong for those with sensitive, rosacea and eczema skin, while some people may also choose to avoid this active ingredient during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
One of the few promising alternative ingredients is Bakuchiol, although being very different from retinol.
Bakuchiol, is a botanical derived from the leaves and seeds of the Psoralea Corylifolia (Babchi) plant with meroterpene phenol as a major component that has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial benefits. It bears no structural resemblance with Retinoic Acid, and cannot fit into the Retinoic Acid receptor to trigger the same response in the skin. However, it is promising in stimulating the receptor nonetheless to boost production of collagen Type I, III and IV as well as elastin fibres. It also speeds up cell turnover. Marie Reynolds London Bakuchiol Complex Supercharger features 1% Bakuchiol, the maximum concentration recommended for use, in a base of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-aging, nourishing olive-derived squalane. Not only is it designed to help improve fine lines, wrinkles, elasticity, and firmness for all skin types, including sensitive, eczema and rosacea skin, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in addition to being anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, it also helps downregulate 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme that increases excess oil production in the skin, and inhibits the growth of P.acnes bacteria, thereby preventing acne.
Ceramide Complex Supercharger
Ceramides and squalene are lipids that are naturally found in the skin's stratum corneum.
